Kit-Build with SixDegrees.org

This year, Washington West Film Festival is teaming up with Kevin Bacon’s Charity, SixDegrees.org, and Virginia’s Kids Belong to support children in the Virginia Foster Care System. Join us on October 13th for a day of community events including kit-building for foster children and our Footloose 40th Anniversary screening featuring a virtual Q&A with Kevin Bacon.

Kit-Building:

We will be putting together kits of comfort items and necessities for children in the Virginia foster care system through VA Kids Belong. Join us from 1 to 3 PM! Sign up to volunteer at the kit-build here.

A little more about SixDegrees.org, headquartered right here in Fairfax Virginia, and their mission:“SixDegrees.org supports impactful initiatives to sustain and enrich local communities. Our work centers on youth empowerment, justice and equality, and improving a sustainable living environment. We listen to and prioritize the lived experiences of communities that are commonly underserved and under-resourced.”

Please note that although Kevin Bacon will be joining us for a virtual Q&A after our 40th Anniversary screening of Footloose, he will not be able to attend the kit building event.
