Death Pays Flora a Visit

In this dark and yet uplifting comedic short film, Death (Eric Roberts) pays an unsuspecting Flora (Mimi Kennedy) a visit, telling her it’s her time. However, Flora doesn’t want to go. There’s still so much she needs to do. And in a surprising and satisfying turn of events, Flora wins the day.

Analog

“ANALOG” is an introspective short thriller that navigates the complexities of familial relationships, the consequences of neglect, and the nuanced experiences of South Asian migrants in the pursuit of the “American Dream.” Set against the backdrop of an evolving digital landscape in 1999, the story unfolds through the lens of Aditya, a devoted husband and father whose relentless pursuit of success inadvertently strains the bonds with his loved ones.

NO PLACE TO GROW OLD

No Place to Grow Old captures a growing crisis unfolding quietly across America: the increasing number of seniors facing homelessness. Set in Portland, Oregon, this poignant documentary follows the lives of three older adults navigating the harsh realities of life without a home. Through their stories of hardship and resilience, the film offers an intimate portrayal of the challenges they face, while also shining a light on the systemic issues contributing to their plight. Featuring insights from local and national experts, “No Place to Grow Old” is a powerful call to action that emphasizes dignity and hope, envisioning a future where everyone, regardless of age, has a safe and secure place to call home.”

Rise

RISE is a coming-of-age short set in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. It follows a tough, resourceful boy living on a rubbish dump who crosses paths with a withdrawn former boxer. When the boy demands to be trained, the coach resists, but the kid won’t take no for an answer. As their uneasy relationship develops, what begins as survival training becomes something more: a fragile connection between two people the world has given up on. At a chaotic underground tournament in Harare, Rise is forced to confront the very thing he’s been running from – not his opponent, but the fear that’s shaped his life.

Undrown

In his directorial debut, Ernesto poetically chronicles his journey of ‘undrowning’ as a young, Indigenous Guatemalan immigrant. Spanning a decade, this coming-of-age story captures Ernesto’s fight to break free from his family’s generational cycle of alcoholism.

Color Book

Following his wife’s recent passing, single father Lucky finds himself navigating the challenges of raising his son Mason, who has Down syndrome. Mason is an 11-year-old exuberant boy who enjoys drawing and watching baseball with his dad. Seeking solace, Lucky and Mason embark on a journey across Metro Atlanta to attend their first baseball game together. Throughout their day-long trip, they encounter Murphy’s Law. From car breakdowns to missed trains, the duo faces a series of obstacles that test their relationship with each other. Despite the setbacks, they persevere, determined to reach the game. Together, Lucky and Mason learn that healing does not await them at the mountaintop, but can be found with every step along the path. “Color Book” provides an intimate portrait of a father and son while exploring the experiences of raising a child with Down syndrome, highlighting the strength and resilience that emerge from their bond.
